TENDER DESCRIPTION
The Clinic for Ophthalmology of Halle University Medicine covers the entire operative spectrum of possible eye diseases. In particular, in the area of corneal transplantation, retinal surgery, trauma care, lacrimal-duct and orbital surgery, and care of tumour and uveitis patients, there is a unique selling point. As a supra-regional trauma centre and corneal transplantation centre (Mitteldeutsche Cornea Bank), an aniridia centre, and a retinal centre, the ophthalmology clinic is already known and in demand throughout Germany. At the site, approximately 19,000 eye patients are treated each year, of which 6,500 are treated surgically and 3,500 are treated as inpatients. For procedures on the anterior segment of the eye (cataract/phacoemulsification) for anterior vitrectomy as well as for procedures on the posterior segment of the eye, including posterior vitrectomy, and their combination, Halle University Medicine uses two Phaco-Vitrectomy combination systems that have been classified as substitutable.
