Remote interpreting refers to an interpreting service provided via a telephone or video connection, in which the interpreter participates in the interpreting event through a remote connection and is not physically present at the interpreting location. The tenderer is required to provide the opportunity for both telephone interpreting and the use of a secure video connection during the interpreting event. The recommendation is that a Teams connection is used. The service is used mainly on weekdays from 8.00 to 17.00, and the interpreter is ordered in advance. On-demand interpreting for urgent interpreting situations, in which the interpreter is ordered without advance notice. On-demand interpreting is carried out as remote interpreting mainly via telephone, but the service provider must be prepared also for a video connection. Interpreting services are ordered through the service provider’s electronic ordering system and, if necessary, by telephone.
