TENDER DESCRIPTION

On the site of the former Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Zwickau, between the Brand district in the north-west and the marshalling yard in the south-east, the new justizvollzugsanstalt (JVA) Zwickau-Marienthal of the Free States of Saxony and Thuringia is being built on approx. 23 ha. The new JVA is designed for 820 prison places (582 places for serving sentences, 148 places for remand detention, 90 places for open prison). The future JVA Zwickau-Marienthal has a gross floor area (a) of approx. 66,400 m² and a gross building volume (a) of approx. 250,700 m³. These are distributed across 14 buildings, which are for the most part connected to one another via underground connecting corridors. Free time courtyards, sports ground, parking and other outdoor facilities as well as rainwater retention in the western part of the property, outside the perimeter wall, complete the construction project. The construction work is already underway. The preparatory measures for clearing the construction site have been completed.
