The Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) is planning an extensive expansion and refurbishment programme on the Kraichgau Railway over the coming years. In doing so, the sections of the line between the stations of Bretten and Eppingen as well as between Grötzingen and Bretten are to be made fit for the requirements of the future, so that passengers of the light rail line S4 and other transport companies can benefit from a powerful and attractive public transport service on rail. Superstructure refurbishment Bf Sulzfeld The Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG) intends to refurbish the track superstructure of route 94201, Grötzingen - Eppingen in the area of Bf Sulzfeld (km 34.0+94 to km 35.3+65). The poor condition of the superstructure requires a comprehensive refurbishment of tracks 1 and 2, including the entry points/switches 101 and 107 as well as switch 102. The superstructure is to be completely renewed and the load-bearing capacity of the underlying soil layer improved by incorporating a binding agent.
