The Albtal Transport Company (AVG) plans an extensive expansion and refurbishment program on the Kraichgaubahn over the coming years. In this context, the sections of the line between the stations of Bretten and Eppingen as well as between Grötzingen and Bretten are to be made fit for the requirements of the future, so that passengers of the Stadtbahn line S4 and other transport operators can benefit from a high-performance and attractive public transport service by rail. Track superstructure refurbishment at Bf Sulzfeld Albtal Transport Company mbH (AVG) intends to refurbish the track superstructure of line 94201, Grötzingen - Eppingen in the area of Bf Sulzfeld (km 34.0+94 to km 35.3+65). The inadequate condition of the track superstructure requires a thorough refurbishment of tracks 1 and 2, including the approach turnouts 101 and 107 as well as turnout 102. The track superstructure is to be completely replaced and the load-bearing capacity of the subgrade layer beneath improved by incorporating a binding agent.
