TENDER DESCRIPTION

DEGES Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH is planning, on behalf of the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Free State of Saxony, the expansion of the A 4 between the AD Nossen and the AS Hermsdorf by one additional lane in each direction of travel. One section is the traffic unit (VKE) 361.2 from the AS Dresden-Neustadt (without) to the AS Dresden-Flughafen (without). The A 4 forms part of the TEN core network. It connects the Polish and the German motorway networks. The transit relationships handled via this east-west axis are characterized by high traffic volumes, which will continue to increase steadily. In Poland, the motorway network was extensively expanded in the last decade. This included, among other things, closing the gap to Ukraine. In recent years, this has led to a disproportionate increase in heavy goods vehicle traffic on the A 4. The capacities of the A 4 between the AS Dresden-Neustadt and the AS Dresden-Flughafen are exhausted. The current level of traffic quality and traffic safety is inadequate.
