TENDER DESCRIPTION

As part of the general renovations, the carriageway width will be adapted to 12.5 m to enable a 4+0 traffic layout during construction works. However, no capacity-increasing measures will be implemented. At the Linz junction, overload phenomena are already observed in the existing condition, which lead to significant traffic congestion on the regionally important A 1 West Motorway. To increase capacity and optimize traffic flow, especially during peak hours, and thus to ensure adequate traffic quality, the implementation of a breakdown lane release (PSFG) in the section from Linz junction to Bindermichl tunnel is planned after the general renovations. The breakdown lane release includes, in addition to the structural adaptation of the carriageway including necessary bridge widenings, in particular an expansion of the electromechanical equipment as well as the installation of a modern traffic control system.
