TENDER DESCRIPTION

Aachener Kreuz Merzbrück GmbH & Co. KG is developing, at the Merzbrück site, around 80 hectares of commercial areas for an innovative aviation cluster and thereby is responsible for a significant structural change project in the Rheinisches Revier. The AeroPark is aimed at the established aviation industry, in particular in the areas of drive technologies, sustainable materials and climate-neutral aviation, as well as at start-ups, scale-ups and the innovative mid-sized industry. Technology transfer and the potential for skilled personnel are secured primarily by RWTH Aachen, FH Aachen, the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT), the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Forschungszentrum Jülich. By 2035, several thousand new jobs are expected to be created. The planning area is located on the eastern edge of the Würselen municipal area, north of the Aachen motorway junction (A 4/A 44/A 544).
