As part of projects by the Federal Environment Agency, data for calculating transport emissions were collected up to the reference year 2025, entered into a database, and an emissions calculation model was created and used (TREMOD). The emissions of greenhouse gases and air pollutants calculated with the TREMOD model are, among other things, the basis for German emissions reporting for the source group “Transport” and for various other national and international reporting obligations. The TREMOD model is written in the programming language Python and exists in the form of a development variant and a usage variant. The development variant enables emission calculations and data queries, while the usage variant enables predefined data queries. .
