The contracting authority makes the following changes compared to the original notice with the no. 460672-2025. Since July 2021, the city of Baden-Baden has, together with 10 other European spa towns, been part of the “Great Spa Towns of Europe” and is therefore part of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The status as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage entails specific requirements for the preservation and use of the thermal baths. For this reason, in particular construction measures are associated with an early increased need for coordination with the BKV, the State and other bodies (in particular the lower monument protection authority of the city of Baden-Baden and the State Office for Monument Preservation). As things stand at present, the following key points form the basis of the contract model: Based on its structural concept, the requirements of the BKV and the statutory and official requirements (in particular monument protection), the contracting entity must modernise the Caracalla Thermal Baths and the plant engineering and ensure the Friedrichsbad is kept in a proper state of repair.
