TENDER DESCRIPTION
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) operates a ground station at the DLR site in Weilheim. With your assistance, communication links are established during a satellite flyover, enabling simultaneous data traffic in both directions. To meet the various requirements of satellites and space probes, different types of antennas are used. All antennas feature program-controlled positioning. The antennas for earth-orbiting satellites are equipped with automatic target tracking devices (Autotrack). All antennas must be adapted to the satellites in terms of signal frequency. The antennas and station equipment are controlled and monitored from a common control room. The control center in Oberpfaffenhofen coordinates the operational operation of the antennas and forwards the commands generated in the control room directly to the ground station in Weilheim. In the opposite direction, the signals received from the spacecraft are processed and transmitted digitally to the control center. The DLR site in Weilheim dates back to 1968.
