TENDER DESCRIPTION

Processing and storage architecture A central component and a local component are provided. The initial architecture of the applications in the IRIS system was designed in the context of distributed activities in railway locations throughout the territory of Romania, on a network with radial topology implemented using SDH technology and low transfer speed (32 kb/s for small work points and up to 1 Mb/s for large work points). For this reason, the applications were designed with a distributed architecture (client components at users’ work stations, local servers) or by removing the processing/services layer. With technological evolution, the data transmission speeds over the RENTRAD network increased to min. 10 Mbps for locations with 1-2 workstations. In this way, conditions were created for consolidating operations in the central datacenter while preserving the local architectures in the regional agencies of Societatea Informatică Feroviară SA.
