TENDER DESCRIPTION
The City of Essen intends to commission the medical staffing of two intensive transport vehicles (ITW) by means of an Open Procedure in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance on the Award of Public Contracts (VgV) and the Act against Restraints of Competition (GWB). The City of Essen is the provider of the rescue service pursuant to Section 6(1) of the Rescue Services Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (RettG NRW). The provision of intensive care transports is a task of the rescue service pursuant to Section 2(1) in conjunction with Section 3(4) of the RettG NRW. An intensive care transport is a medically necessary transport of a patient from a treatment facility to a treatment facility suitable for the further care of patients under intensive care conditions. The contractor acts on behalf of the provider of the rescue service and does not provide its own service which can be accounted for directly vis-à-vis patients or health insurance funds.
