TENDER DESCRIPTION

The object of the contract is technical assistance for the identification of the presence of microcontaminants in the Catalan basins and assessing the associated risk. The contract results align with Royal Decree 817 of 2015, which defines specific contaminants as "those contaminants discharged in significant quantities into a basin and not included in Annex IV" and establishes that their levels in surface water bodies must serve as a supporting element to assess their status/ecological potential, according to the EQS calculated using the methodology described in Annex VII. In this regard, the technical document Guide for the Evaluation of the Status of Surface and Ground Waters, published by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge dated April 2021, presents in its annex 5 a list of contaminants which, according to available information, could pose a risk to surface waters throughout the state, and proposes environmental quality standards for them.
