Processing and reuse of winter service grit chippings from the 2026/2027 season The State Capital Munich, Construction Office, Main Department for Civil Engineering, Department for Road Maintenance and Operations, intends to award the contract for the processing and reuse of the grit chippings applied as part of winter service 2026/2027. The applied grit chippings from moraine gravel chippings—grading 2/5 mm—may no longer be taken for final disposal in landfills after they have been collected by street sweepers. The relevant legal provisions (German Circular Economy Act (Kreislaufwirtschaftsgesetz, KrWG)) require that for such material it is processed and directed to a meaningful and economical reuse. Accordingly, the swept chippings are to be cleaned and/or processed in such a way that the recovered material is marketed by the contractor so that it can be further used as chippings and sand in road construction, in landscaping and garden construction, or for alternative intended purposes, such as, for example, as a component material in the building materials industry or similar applications.
