TENDER DESCRIPTION

As part of carrying out construction works, site vehicles, transport vehicles and construction machinery must regularly enter and leave the work area. For this purpose, above all for long construction sections, site access roads within the work site are used, i.e. in the longitudinal traffic of the motorway. Such access routes create additional conflict points with through traffic, which can reduce road safety and/or lead to disruptions in traffic flow. At present, there are no standards for the training and design of such site access routes. While site access routes are generally taken into account in regulations and occupational safety requirements, there have so far been only a few scientifically sound findings regarding their safe and high-performing design. The aim of this research project is the systematic investigation of site access routes within work sites of longer duration on BAB, and the development of scientifically sound recommendations for their planning, design and operation.
