TENDER DESCRIPTION

The City of Mannheim has commissioned BBS Bau- und Betriebsservice GmbH with the extension and new construction of a four-stream primary school with all-day care and two single-field sports halls. Due to increasing student numbers, the Humboldtschule, which is a listed monument, is being expanded. For this purpose, Erlenstraße and the existing playground will be included, creating a contiguous area. The city assumes a total number of approximately 448 students. Neckarstadt-West is located north of the Neckar River, between Kurpfalz and Zungbusch bridges. The property is located in the east of Neckarstadt-West. On the site is the existing building of the former primary school, which also houses a secondary school. By purchasing a property and including Erlenstraße, a contiguous school area is created. As a preparatory measure, the existing facilities (pavilion/provisional building, playground, motorcycle dealer; Erlenstraße) will be completely demolished. The new primary school building forms the conclusion for a defined school park and will be constructed as a U-shaped building.
