TENDER DESCRIPTION
The WNA Helmstedt is responsible for the extension of the branch canal to Salzgitter in the area from SKS-km 3,550 to SKS-km 14,918. To determine whether the construction work will cause temporary or permanent changes in groundwater conditions, groundwater monitoring is carried out before, during, and after the construction measure. Due to the amended planning, the Wedtlenstedt foreports on the west side will be expanded. As a result, three existing groundwater monitoring wells will be eliminated; these must be newly constructed in the immediate vicinity of the foreports. In addition, another groundwater monitoring well is required in the immediate vicinity of the lock head, with the option to develop it as an extraction well. This is needed for water management in connection with the installation of the clay lining in the area of the OVH WED (to protect the lock, in particular the lock head).
