TENDER DESCRIPTION

With the construction of the Visitors’ and Information Centre of the German Bundestag (BIZ) at the Reichstag building (RTG), appropriate visitor care is to be enabled and, at the same time, the information offerings for visitors to the Reichstag building are to be improved. It replaces the security container facility located to the west of the RTG, which was erected on a temporary basis due to increased security requirements. The BIZ is located south of Scheidemannstraße and is connected to the RTG via a connecting structure located under Scheidemannstraße. At the same time as the BIZ, an Underground Chilled Water Plant (UKZ) for supplying the RTG is to be constructed below the Platz der Republik. As part of the site clearance, in particular the following measures are to be carried out: Relocation of the flag system (four units in total, including the “Flag of Unity”) and foundation dismantling works, relocation/implementation of the memorial “for the 96 murdered Reichstag members”, rerouting of existing services/utility lines, and removal of the existing paving.
