TENDER DESCRIPTION

AWA Entsorgung GmbH (AWA) is a municipal waste management company and ensures disposal security for around 820,000 citizens. AWA’s primary task is to implement the waste management concept of the Zweckverband Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW) for the StädteRegion Aachen and the district of Düren. To this end, it operates four waste management centres, a composting facility with a digestion stage, a hazardous substance collection point, 50% of the Weisweiler waste incineration plant, as well as a mobile hazardous substance collection service in the StädteRegion Aachen and the district of Düren. AWA intends to expand the Würselen biogas plant by adding a plug-flow fermentation with intensive rotting at the site Am Weiweg 40 in 52146 Würselen. So far, around 30,000 t of biowaste are processed at the site per year. Within the association area of Zweckverband Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW), up to approx. 70,000 t of biowaste are available annually. Of the additional quantities, part is already delivered to, unloaded at, and processed externally from the site.
