TENDER DESCRIPTION

AWA Entsorgung GmbH (AWA) is a municipal waste disposal company and ensures reliable waste disposal for approximately 820,000 citizens. AWA’s primary task is to implement the waste management concept of the Special-Purpose Association Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW) for the StädteRegion Aachen and the district of Düren. For this purpose, it operates four disposal centres, a composting facility with a digestion stage, a hazardous waste collection point, 50% the Weisweiler waste incineration plant, as well as a mobile hazardous waste collection in the StädteRegion Aachen and the district of Düren. AWA intends to extend the anaerobic digestion plant Würselen by adding plug-flow fermentation with intensive rotting at the site Am Weiweg 40 in 52146 Würselen. So far, approximately 30,000 t of bio waste are processed at the site per year. In the association area of the Special-Purpose Association Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW), up to approximately 70,000 t of bio waste are available annually.
