TENDER DESCRIPTION

AWA Entsorgung GmbH (AWA) is a municipal waste disposal company and ensures waste disposal security for approximately 820,000 citizens. AWA’s primary task is to implement the waste management concept of the Zweckverband Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW) for the StädteRegion Aachen and the Landkreis Düren. To this end, it operates four disposal centres, a composting plant with digestion stage, a hazardous substance collection point, 50% of the Weisweiler waste incineration plant, as well as a mobile hazardous substance collection service in the StädteRegion Aachen and the Landkreis Düren. AWA intends to expand the Würselen digestion plant by adding plug-flow fermentation with intensive rotting at the site Am Weiweg 40 in 52146 Würselen. So far, approximately 30,000 t of bio-waste are processed at the site each year. In the association area of the Zweckverband Entsorgungsregion West (ZEW), up to approximately 70,000 t of bio-waste are available annually. Of the additional quantities, part is already delivered to, transferred at, and externally utilized from the site.
