The German National Library has a statutory obligation to collect its holdings both physically and digitally and to make them available to the general public. To meet the associated tasks and objectives as efficiently and effectively as possible, an enterprise architecture is required that is optimally aligned to business capabilities. The diversity and scope of the tasks require a comprehensive and complex business, information and technology architecture. To make strategic decisions on a sound basis, the German National Library needs an IT system for the management, maintenance and flexible evaluation of the data underlying the enterprise architecture. The procurement procedure includes the procurement of an Enterprise Architecture Management System (EAM)
