TENDER DESCRIPTION

The contracting authority is Breitband Ostalb KAöR. Breitband Ostalb KAöR is a joint municipal institution of the district and of the 42 cities and municipalities of the Ostalb district. The task of Breitband Ostalb KAöR is to ensure fiber-optic expansion in the Ostalb district for underserved households and commercial businesses. Based on already existing infrastructure, the cities and municipalities are planning the construction of a funded gigabit network based on FTTB technology in the cadastral areas referred to in Section A.3 of the annex “Task description” to the tender documents, successively in the years 2027 to 2030. Based on the existing backbone network of the Ostalb district, the funded gigabit network (FTTB) consists of feeder connection infrastructures into the service area and in-town distribution networks in the respective expansion areas.
