TENDER DESCRIPTION

For Breitband Ostalb KAöR and the towns and municipalities of the Ostalb district, providing citizens and businesses with capable and future-proof broadband services is an important task in the sense of public service provision, economic development and location security. With the requirement for high data rates and long transmission distances between networks, the expansion of fibre-optic technology plays a decisive role. For this reason, Breitband Ostalb KAöR and the towns and municipalities of the Ostalb district have, in recent years, constructed a fibre-optic infrastructure to ensure efficient and future-proof supply in parts of the district. For this purpose, starting from connection points to existing fibre-optic infrastructures, Breitband Ostalb KAöR has constructed the feeder-line infrastructures into the service area (backbone network) and, by the towns and municipalities, internal distribution networks in insufficiently supplied areas of the district, based on FTTC (as an intermediate step) and FTTB technology.
