TENDER DESCRIPTION

For Breitband Ostalb KAöR as well as the towns and municipalities of the Ostalb district, providing citizens and businesses with high-performance and future-proof broadband services is an important task within the meaning of public service provision, economic development and location security. With the requirement for high data rates and long transmission distances between networks, the expansion of fibre-optic technology plays a decisive role in particular. For this reason, Breitband Ostalb KAöR as well as the towns and municipalities of the Ostalb district have, in recent years, built a fibre-optic infrastructure to ensure high-performance and future-proof provision in parts of the district. For this purpose, based on connection points to existing fibre-optic infrastructures, Breitband Ostalb KAöR has constructed the lead-in infrastructures into the service area (backbone network) as well as, by the towns and municipalities, local distribution networks in areas of the district that are insufficiently served, on the basis of FTTC- (as an intermediate step) and FTTB technology.
