TENDER DESCRIPTION

Lot 1 covers the towns and municipalities of Eschach, Göggingen, Gschwend, Ruppertshofen, Spraitbach and Täferrot. The contracting authority is Breitband Ostalb KAöR. Breitband Ostalb KAöR is a joint municipal institution of the district and of all 42 towns and municipalities of the Ostalbkreis. The task of Breitband Ostalb KAöR is to ensure, in the Ostalbkreis, an expansion with fibre optics for under-served households and businesses. Based on already existing infrastructure, the towns and municipalities plan to establish a funded gigabit network based on FTTB technology in the municipal districts specified under Section A.3 of the Appendix “Task description” to the tender documents, successively in the years 2027 to 2030. Starting from the existing backbone network of the Ostalbkreis, the funded gigabit network (FTTB) comprises feeder-line infrastructures into the supply area as well as in-town distribution networks in the respective expansion areas.
