TENDER DESCRIPTION

The city of Biberach an der Riß (hereinafter: “CA”) is a large district town in Baden-Württemberg. The university town of Biberach lies in the northern Upper Swabia region and is a medium-sized centre of the Donau-Iller region in the Regierungspräsidium Tübingen. It is the largest city of the eponymous district. An agreed administrative partnership exists with the neighbouring municipalities of Attenweiler, Eberhardzell, Hochdorf, Maselheim, Mittelbiberach, Ummendorf and Warthausen. Many medium-sized and international companies are based in Biberach, including Boehringer, Liebherr and EnBW. The CA considers the supply of citizens and businesses, schools and administrative facilities in the supply area with high-performance and future-oriented broadband services to be an important task in the sense of public service provision as well as location security and it is a priority objective of the CA. Since 2023, the CA has been gradually expanding the fibre-optic infrastructure within the city area.
