TENDER DESCRIPTION

The workshop building from 1957—used by RWTH Aachen together with the Institute for Material Applications in Mechanical Engineering (IWM)—is to be refurbished. The measures concept provides for a 1:1 restoration in accordance with the state of today’s technology and renewed commissioning in line with the original use. The workshop building is located within the scope of the statute “Denkmalbereich Innenstadt” (Inner City Listed Buildings Area). It is not subject to heritage protection; however, it is subject to ensemble protection. The rear building and the institute building connected via an connecting corridor are comprehensively subject to heritage protection. Task: Checking the structural engineering planning in accordance with § 12 SV-VO.
