TENDER DESCRIPTION

The contract concerns the execution of phase II of the soil remediation at Blekerijweg in IJsselmuiden and focuses on remediating the contamination in the seepage zone in the Koekoekspolder. In this area, contaminated groundwater (in particular cis-1,2-dichloroethene and vinyl chloride) discharges into the shallow groundwater and surface water, leading to restrictions on use and exceedance of environmental quality standards. The purpose of the contract is to reduce the concentrations of these contaminants to the target remediation values as set out in the approved remediation plan, by establishing and maintaining a remediation system based on in-situ soil remediation. The contract includes designing, implementing, managing, operating and maintaining an in-situ remediation system, whereby—through stimulated biological degradation (including by dosing a carbon source and bacteria)—the contaminant concentrations in the groundwater in the seepage zone and the discharge to surface water are reduced.
