TENDER DESCRIPTION

The intersection of Kogendijk with the N9, in Alkmaar, is unsafe due to the at-grade crossing of fast traffic with slow traffic, controlled by a traffic light system. The current intersection causes unsafe situations and traffic flow that is too slow. An adjustment of the intersection is needed to make the situation safer and improve traffic flow. The project involves a reconstruction of the current at-grade intersection with traffic lights into a turbo roundabout with a bicycle and pedestrian tunnel. The area is located on the edge of Alkmaar, on the border between the municipality of Bergen and the municipality of Alkmaar. Stadswerk072 supervises the procurement on behalf of the municipality of Alkmaar and in cooperation with Rijkswaterstaat, Province of North Holland, and the municipality of Bergen. The municipality of Alkmaar intends to enter into a Design and Build Team agreement via this non-public procedure in order to further design the intersection and surrounding area with the contractor, and implement the execution based on UAV-gc.
