General construction description The Chamber of Skilled Crafts (Handwerkskammer) for Upper Franconia, based in Bayreuth, plans to establish an education centre at the Bamberg site. The development site (building plot) available for the new development comprises the plots with the plot numbers 4406/14, 4450/2, 4450/1, and in part 4408. The new building for the Bamberg education centre is intended to create a sustainable, identity-forming ensemble that acts as an anchor function within the quarter and forms the eastern termination of the projected urban development south of Forchheimer Straße, with service and education uses. In accordance with the characteristics of a craft-oriented education centre, the property is zoned into building clusters, which also allow for expansion areas. Internal and external circulation routes network the clusters and provide open spaces appropriate to the intended use. The orthogonal zoning is oriented towards the southern access road, as this is also how references to the expected development in the west can be established.
