The boarding school Schloss Hansenberg ("ISH") is an upper-secondary grammar school with a focus on science and economics, which leads particularly ambitious and high-performing students to the Abitur within three years. The operator of the school is the state of Hessen. In the boarding-house operation, the dining hall is part of the daily routine and is of significant importance for the well-being and nutrition education of the mostly 14 to 19-year-old students, since the supply of the young people is ensured almost exclusively through the catering offering. The catering concept includes the active involvement of students in meal preparation during the time of the learning labs. The willingness of the dining-hall staff* to engage in contact and exchange with the students and to take account of, for example, requested meals or the design of theme weeks is essential for this.
