TENDER DESCRIPTION

Project description: The Bernhard Adelung School (BAS) is one of three Integrated Comprehensive Schools of the Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt and part of the Bürgerpark education campus. The school is currently organized as a 4-stream institution and was attended by around 594 students in the school year 2023/24. The BAS pursues a modern educational concept with independent learning, strong career orientation, full-day school structures and cooperation with the neighbouring schools of the Bürgerpark campus. This concept requires contemporary learning spaces, differentiation areas, modern specialist rooms and sufficient space for teamwork and individual support. The current spatial situation of the BAS does not meet these requirements. The existing buildings B (administration), C and D (classroom blocks) from 1957 are, as the resolution of the Magistrate states, in urgent need of refurbishment and have been under heritage protection since 2015. The colonnades/balcony corridors are structurally damaged and have only been secured provisionally since 2022.
