TENDER DESCRIPTION

The U-Bahn station Berliner Platz is located in the city centre of Essen directly next to the shopping centre Limbecker Platz and, alongside Essen main railway station, is one of the most important hubs for public transport. The U-Bahn station Berliner Platz is divided into a distribution level (level -1) and two driving levels: level -2 for the U-/light rail lines and level -3 for the tram lines. On the distribution level, in addition to the retail units, there are also many operational rooms of Ruhrbahn. The 2nd level at Berliner Platz will be upgraded from a fire protection engineering standpoint. As part of this, the platform will be shortened and new technical rooms will be retrofitted. As a result, 1 stairway access to level -2 will be eliminated and the escalators 16 & 17 will be dismantled without replacement.
