Reactivation of flow and refurbishment of the Räderbach and canal structures - planning services for civil engineering structures and structural engineering Engineering services for civil engineering structures pursuant to § 41 et seq. HOAI and structural engineering pursuant to § 49 et seq. HOAI, civil engineering structures LPH 3-9 and structural engineering LPH 1-6 The City of Offenburg will hold a State Garden Show (Landesgartenschau) in 2032. The island between the Offenburger Mühlkanal and the Räderbach, approximately 500 m long, will be a central part of the Landesgartenschau Offenburg 2032. Originally, the Mühlkanal was dammed at the old weir near the current waterworks, and a large portion of the discharge was routed to generate hydropower in the Räderbach. Today, the historic weir is out of service and ecological continuity has been established in this section of the Mühlbach. Due to the lack of damming, hardly any water currently flows through the Räderbach. As a result, the Räderbach has silted up, which further reduces the discharge.
