TENDER DESCRIPTION

It is of great concern to the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate to sustainably enhance the quality of stay in inner cities and local town centres. At the same time, it is necessary to find answers to the climate changes that have now become clearly noticeable. In this context, pedestrian traffic plays a key role. Cities that can be experienced on foot are more attractive and offer a higher quality of life. This benefits retail trade and catering: anyone who is on foot stays longer and perceives offers in a different way than other transport users. Moreover, walking has positive effects for health and for the climate. Against this background, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Tourism, Energy and Climate of Rhineland-Palatinate also intends to offer, in the years 2027 and 2028 respectively, for each year ten municipalities selected in the context of a competition in the state the implementation of professionally prepared and accompanied pedestrian traffic checks.
