TENDER DESCRIPTION
TIMS (Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer) - solid source mass spectrometer (1 unit): it will be dedicated to applications where isotopic measurements require the highest analytical precision. These include measurements of classical radiogenic isotopes on sediments, minerals, and rocks (87Sr/86Sr, 143Nd/144Nd, 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb, 208Pb/204Pb), but also new innovative applications such as measurements of light isotopes of general geochemical interest (6Li/7Li, 9B/10B) and in climate change issues (42Ca/44Ca). Also, TIMS will measure short-lived isotopes (210Pb, 90Sr) relevant in radioactive pollution issues and for geochronology on the scale of tens of years.
