TENDER DESCRIPTION
The assignment includes carrying out ecological research into vulnerable and difficult-to-detect protected bat species that live in and on buildings within the province of Groningen. This concerns the target species: parti-coloured bat (Vespertilio murinus), mouse-eared bat (Myotis brandtii), noctule bat (Eptesicus serotinus), common long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus), Brandt’s bat (Myotis brandtii) and beard bat (Myotis mystacinus). The purpose of the research is to obtain a better understanding of the presence, distribution, roosts, functional networks and the habitat of these species for species protection, municipal species management plans and permitting. The research is carried out within the province of Groningen. Priority research areas may be further defined during the term of the assignment based on the research data obtained, municipal SMP research and the results of preceding research phases. The available resources must be deployed in locations, populations and research questions where the greatest knowledge gain is expected.
