TENDER DESCRIPTION

The planned new build of the Allmend primary schoolhouse aims to create future-oriented, sustainable and pedagogically functional infrastructure for primary education level 1 to 6. The four-storey building structure will be erected on the school site using conventional timber construction and will replace the existing outdoor sports facility (“Roter Platz”). The geological and hydrogeological conditions on the site are considered demanding. In particular, two groundwater strata that must be separated from one another are to be taken into account. The ground conditions require pile foundation (concrete displacement bored piles), including for service lines and inspection pits (wooden piles). With regard to flood protection, the new build meets the requirements of HQ300. Building services will be located on the ground floor and on the topmost storey (no basement) in order to avoid damage caused by flooding events. The building’s load-bearing structure is based on a solid timber frame structure made of Fi/Ta. This is supplemented by three massive service cores made of reinforced concrete.
