TENDER DESCRIPTION

The district of Minden-Lübbecke will renovate and energetically upgrade the Visitors' Mine and Museum Kleinenbremen (BBMK) to bring the facility up to a current technical standard. The "Visitors' Mine and Museum Kleinenbremen" (BBMK) is the only authentically preserved iron ore mine and museum in the Westphalia region. The buildings on the property were constructed between 1935 and 1938 and reflect the architecture and industrial style of that era. The mining operation itself was active until 1957 inclusive and thus played a significant role in the regional economy and culture. Today, visitors can not only tour the historical sites but also learn more about the techniques and challenges of mining. The BBMK is therefore an important place for education and remembrance of mining history in Westphalia. The inclusion in the monument protection list (No. 0175) means that all parts of the building are subject to ensemble monument protection, which covers both the exterior and interior design.
