TENDER DESCRIPTION

ENTEGA AG (“contracting authority” or “CA”) is the owner and operator of the district heating network “Kaisergärten” in Babenhausen and of the combined heat and power plant located there, from which households are supplied. For the transformation of the district heating network towards greenhouse-gas-neutral heat supply (decarbonisation), the CA aims to obtain funding from the funding programme “Federal Funding for Efficient Heat Networks (BEW)”. As a first step towards decarbonisation, a transformation plan has already been carried out for the district heating network, aligned with HOAI LPH 1. The transformation plan comes to the conclusion that, due to the low consumption and output of the quarter, the construction of an air heat pump using the existing infrastructure and redundant heat generation units can represent a cost-efficient and suitable option to provide the required share of renewable energy from 2030. The estimated maximum rated thermal capacity of the air heat pump is approximately 2 - 3 MWth.
