TENDER DESCRIPTION

Research work followed by evaluation of experience with local and time-limited deterrence measures against cormorants in the Lake Constance region as well as in other regions of Europe. Subsequently, concepts are to be developed for particularly endangered sub-populations of endangered fish species in the Lake Constance region. For this purpose, - building on the results of work package 3a1, which identifies the times and locations with increased cormorant predation in the Lake Constance area - it is necessary to research possible deterrence measures for cormorants at inland waterways and to assess and develop them with regard to their suitability in relation to the respective local conditions. Certain fish populations of the focus fish species (e.g. grayling populations of European or pan-Swiss importance) are to be treated with priority. In addition, in certain parts of the lake and of the catchment area (e.g. the Constance Trichter, the Rhine lake arm “Seerhein”), in which cormorant predation causes substantial damage to protected / endangered fish species, measures concepts are to be worked out on how fish species protection can be improved through targeted deterrence…
