The city of Freital operates, for a large number of specialist administrative procedures related to municipal services, a range of IT components which, together with various software products, serve to provide all necessary infrastructure components for operating the required administrative tasks. Based on two data center locations in the city of Freital, IT services are currently provided for the various administrative offices and departments. For operating the individual IT services and specialist procedures, the city of Freital currently operates a 3-tier VMware-stretched cluster, which is split symmetrically across two geo-redundant locations. The aim is to procure modern compute and storage technologies that ensure effective operation of the data centers over the coming 5 years.
