TENDER DESCRIPTION

Gender equality is a constitutional mandate under Article 3(2) of the German Basic Law (GG) and increasing women’s participation in employment is also an objective of the coalition agreement (KoaV) (lines 407-409). In order to meet these obligations and objectives, strengthening the economic independence of women and men and/or promoting economic equality is a declared objective of the Federal Government. This objective has been set out in both the 2026 annual economic report and the Federal Government’s 7th report on poverty and wealth. The provision of economic orientation knowledge over the course of life (e.g. the financial consequences of part-time work, care work and choosing tax brackets) is a key lever for this. The work of the office “Economic independence” is also intended to build on this. For the purpose of providing professional, evidence-based and communicative support to the responsible specialist department, the establishment and operation of an external office “Economic independence” will be tendered across Europe for the period from 01.02.2027 to 31.12.2029.
