Ersatzneubau der Heinrich-Weitz-Brücke in Linnich - Stadt Linnich

TENDER DESCRIPTION

During the flood event in summer 2021, the municipality of Linnich was partially flooded. The Rur River, which passes through the city and the adjacent municipal area, massively overflowed its banks and caused considerable damage. The city area of Linnich is connected in the west-east direction, coming from the east, by Erkelenzer Straße as well as L253 / Jülicher Straße via the Heinrich-Weitz Bridge. During the flood disaster, the water level of the Rur nearly reached the underside of the steel bridge structure. Due to the widespread flooding, the Rur carried extensive driftwood which finally caused impact situations on the superstructure. The replacement construction of the Heinrich-Weitz Bridge was granted a water law permit - No. 54.B.1-2025-0002902-U70/25 - by the Cologne District Government as a result of the application dated 09.10.2024. This permit is included in the tender documents. The road construction part includes the dismantling of the existing road leading to the bridge and the reconstruction of the road.
