TENDER DESCRIPTION

The Federal Agency for Real Estate (Bundesanstalt für Immobilienaufgaben, BImA) intends, as the contracting authority (AG), to construct a new administrative building for ministerial purposes on the property “Postblock Nord” (= PBN) at Wilhelmstraße/Leipziger Straße in the Berlin district of Mitte. On the adjacent property “Postblock Süd” (= PBS), a ministerial building and a residential building are to be constructed. The Postblock site is an urban district in Berlin bounded by Wilhelmstraße/Leipziger Straße, Mauerstraße and Zimmerstraße. The total area lies within the scope of the development measure “Capital Berlin – Parliament and Government District” (“Hauptstadt Berlin – Parlaments- und Regierungsviertel”). It is one of the last major development opportunities for the Federal Government in Berlin-Mitte. A nearly continuous building area of approximately 25,000 m² is available there, roughly half of which falls within the areas of PBN (13,284 m²) and PBS (12,379 m²). The two plot areas are separated only by Buchhändlerweg, which is used mainly as a footpath and for supply access.
