TENDER DESCRIPTION

Through the implementation of the investment objective "Rehabilitation, restoration and consolidation of the building 'National House Stroe Belloescu' today Bârlad Municipal Library" under the project, works are proposed for rehabilitating, restoring and consolidating the "National House Stroe Belloescu" building, with an area of 313.81 sqm. It is classified as a historic monument and registered on the list of historic monuments, class B, with code VS-II-m-B-06752 and dates from 1906-1908. The building, erected in Neo-Romanian style according to the architect C.A. Harjeu's project, between 1906-1908, is listed among architectural monuments. In 1909, the professor, politician and philanthropist Stroe Belloescu (1838 - 1912) named the edifice "National House" and gifted it to the communal city hall, with the stipulation: "The Bârlad Commune shall maintain and take care of this establishment. This establishment may only serve as a public library, art gallery and museum."
