The beginning of the execution is slated for no later than 6 working days after the contract award. The overall assignment period for external construction supervision is expected to commence in November 2026. The contractor's services are set to begin with the official construction start meeting.

The completion of the execution is scheduled for no later than December 31, 2031. The planned conclusion of the contractual measure, specifically the external construction supervision, is in the 3rd quarter of 2031. The contractor's services will conclude with the successful review and approval of the final invoice for the measure.

The total duration of the project is approximately 5.5 years.

Key milestones and phases include:

• Besprechungstermine (meeting dates) annually from 2027 to 2031.
• Review of existing documents ("Prüfung Bestandsunterlagen").
• Transport of concrete cubes to the testing institute in calendar year 2027.
• Tendering of the noise barrier measure in the 3rd quarter of 2029, with construction in 2030.
• Review and processing of final invoices ("Schlussrechnungen") for the construction contract "Replacement new construction of the noise barrier on the Ruhr bridge structure" in calendar year 2031.
• The contractor is required to submit a detailed construction schedule/timeline within 4 calendar weeks after contract award, reflecting the contractually agreed dates, and to provide a milestone trend analysis (MTA). The construction schedule must be updated digitally every two weeks with a target-actual comparison.

The core scope of work for this tender primarily involves the Replacement New Construction of the Ruhr Bridge structure (Ersatzneubau Bauwerk Ruhrbrücke).

The high-level summary of the Statement of Work and core deliverables includes:

• Site Management and Planning: This encompasses the creation and monthly updating of a Construction Site Plan (BE-Plan) and Construction Schedule (Bauzeitenplan) for all new construction phases, including the demolition of the existing structure (TBW Ost) and modification of retaining wall BW 14, along with safety measures for public traffic and a construction road concept. It also includes general construction site setup with necessary equipment and tools.
• Water Management: Implementation of surface water drainage (Tagwasserbeseitigung) at BAB 3 to protect work areas and materials from rainwater.
• Environmental and Logistics Management: Developing and updating a soil logistics concept for sampling, excavation, transport, storage, loading, processing, and installation of soil and dredged material. Additionally, appointing a waste officer to oversee all disposal and reuse processes, including planning and monitoring waste separation, heap formation, and sampling.
• Documentation and Review: Reviewing, structuring, and technically examining existing project documents (drawings, plans, data) for accuracy and completeness, including plausibility checks against on-site conditions and identifying data gaps. This also involves archiving and handing over documents as specified by the client.
• Specific Construction Activities: This involves various tasks such as formwork and concrete works, including the production of concrete for blinding layers and formwork for concrete components.
• Replacement of Inlet Structures (Ersatzneubau Einleitungsbauwerke): This includes demolition of existing reinforced concrete inlet structures, removal and application of topsoil, grass seeding, construction of pipe trenches and excavation pits, delivery and compaction of building materials, construction of steel sheet piling with bracing, filling existing drainage pipes, constructing concrete drainage pipes, building precast shafts (TG-1A and TG-2A), and all associated formwork, reinforcing steel installation, and reinforced concrete production.
• Bridge Superstructure: The bridge superstructures will utilize prefabricated, walkable box girders with reinforced concrete deck slabs, some incorporating precast elements, designed as a continuous beam system.
• Coordination and Documentation: Overall coordination of specialist models through regular consolidation, quality checks (data, information, collision detection), and systematic conflict resolution using cloud-based issue management. This also covers model-based documentation of construction-related information (e.g., documents, test protocols, delivery notes, material data, maintenance regulations) on a common data environment (CDE).
• Surveying: Implementation of a measurement program for the replacement new construction on the west side.
• Ground Investigation and Clearance: Conducting inclined exclusion/probe drillings (d=120 mm) to depths of 8m in specific areas, backfilling boreholes, and documenting the process. Marking and electronically measuring borehole starting points for exploratory drilling. Performing visual Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) clearance, which includes full-surface inspection for UXO on the ground surface, checking vegetation, recovering manageable UXO, securing unmanageable UXO, and removing other disruptive objects.
• Technical Engineering and Permits: Technical processing for all construction aids, installations, and scaffolding according to DIN 18451 and client specifications, including obtaining all necessary public and legal permits and approvals for the new replacement construction (Teilbauwerk Ost). This also covers technical planning and execution for modifying or relocating the escape staircase at retaining wall BW 14, Block 14-1 and 14-2, including workshop planning and permit acquisition.
• Existing Document Delivery: Producing and delivering existing documents as per ZTV-ING, Part 1, Section 2 for Teilbauwerk Ost.
