The execution of work is to begin immediately after contract award, no later than 10 calendar days after contract signing, or latest 6 working days after contract award. The overall deployment period for the external construction supervision is expected to commence in November 2026. The total duration of the project is approximately 5.5 years. The contract is scheduled to conclude with the planned completion of the contractual measure in the 3rd quarter of 2031, with the latest completion date for execution being December 31, 2031. The contractor's services officially end with the successful review and approval of the final invoice for the measure, which is expected to occur in the calendar year 2031.

• Start of Services: The contractor's service period begins with the official construction start meeting.
• Detailed Construction Plan: The contractor must submit a detailed construction schedule to the client within 4 calendar weeks after contract award.
• Construction Phases: The construction is divided into sections, with the western partial structure (Cologne direction) to be renewed first, followed by the eastern partial structure (Arnhem direction), with an intermediate gap between these phases.
• Annual Milestones:
• 2026: Meetings.
• 2027: Transport of concrete cubes to the testing institute. Meetings.
• 2028: Meetings.
• 2029: Meetings. Tendering of the noise barrier measure in the 3rd quarter.
• 2030: Meetings. Manufacturing of the noise barrier.

• Technological Demolition Concept: Development, monthly updates, and submission of a demolition concept for approval.
• Logistics and Storage: Establishing and operating temporary storage areas for various materials (soil, dredged material, waste), including cadastral records, covering, and necessary protective and operational facilities.
• Technical Processing/Engineering: Preparing technical documentation and managing plan runs and approval processes via the Eplass platform for specific shafts (TG-1A, TG-2, TG-3) and inlet structures (lowland and upland areas).
• Foundation and Substructure Works: Manufacturing and installing cast-in-place bored piles of varying lengths and diameters, installing reinforcing steel for large bored piles, preparing pile caps, and conducting integrity testing of bored piles.
• Excavation Pit Shoring and Securing: Constructing soldier pile walls, installing bracing/stiffeners and injection anchors, building steel sheet pile walls (including shortening), performing soil solidification via jet grouting, and producing underwater concrete and drainage concrete leveling layers.
• Formwork and Concreting: Creating concrete blinding layers for pile cap slabs and executing formwork construction and removal.
• Dismantling and Installation: Removing existing pipelines/cables, ensuring collection, loading, and disposal of non-hazardous waste. This also includes delivering and connecting meter panels, and installing halogen-free electrical lines.
• Cable Infrastructure and Penetrations: Delivering and installing plastic cable protection pipes, performing core drilling through reinforced concrete for specific structural axes (10/70), and providing ring space seals.
• Earthworks and Landscaping: Supplying and applying topsoil, establishing grass seeding, installing drainage layers, and delivering and compacting backfill material for abutments and wing walls.
• Drainage Systems: Implementing drainage for substructures and superstructures (TBW West and TBW Ost), which includes constructing maintenance gangway drainage, installing cast iron bridge drains with connecting pipes, and glass fiber reinforced plastic pipelines for bridge drainage, as well as installing cleaning connection pipes.
• Documentation Review and Archiving: Reviewing, structuring, and technically examining existing documentation (drawings, overview plans, data) for engineering structures, checking for plausibility and completeness, and archiving and handing over documents in both physical and digital formats. This is specifically required for inlet structures and shafts (TG-1 to TG-3).
